Litter planned for the fall/winter 2007!
Lovely Yenna goes back to my more work-oriented bloodline, descending from my sweet foundation bitch Savanah. Savanah has always been very attentive, eager to please and easily motivated and for generations these qualities can be found in Savanah's offspring. The K-litter that Yenna is from, is a beautifully balanced and friendly litter, with fairly easily managable dogs who enjoy working and kicking back with their families equally. When I was given the opportunity to include Yenna in my breeding programme, I couldn't resist the temptation. I've spent a lot of time with Yenna and her family and Yenna's mum Ninna and I, have done lots of obediance training together. Yenna is just a fabulous working dog and on top of that an extraordinary family member and friend. She is bomb-proof around the three two-legged youngsters in the household and generally a very easy-going girl. My three girls, and Haley especially, always enjoy her company immensely. On top of her impressive working skills, Yenna is also a beautiful girl. She has a pleasing, elegant outline with superb balance, super strong topline and an easy-flowing side gait. Yenna to date has three CCs and a Best of breed win to her name. When choosing the right mate for Yenna, I soon came to the conclusion that I wanted a boy decending from my other foundation bitch, gorgeous Demi. Demi has been an outstanding show dog and an equally outstanding brood bitch with an impressive 17 champion get to her name. On top of this, she is famous for her fantastic temperament and she really is a once in a lifetime dog. Needless to say, I feel extremely confident that using a boy who descends from Demi's lines, will be a very good match from Yenna. I have previously combined my two bitch lines on two occations. One mating which produced the lone warrior Rex Ventors Limited Edition "Lexi" (Ch Rex Ventors Hero to Evergrace x Nyassa Legacy) and later also the promising M-litter (Ch Rex Ventors Jabailey x Multi Ch Rex Ventors Helinn). My original plan for Yenna was to use the very handsome Nyassa Adam who is a Demi-grandson and also a grand-son of the sire of our H-litter Multi Ch Chipangali's Kadani. The combination of Demi and Kadani-lines has proven very successful, with the H-litter being outstanding in the show rings and the recent O-litter also looking very promising. However, Yenna decided to come in early and we had not yet finalized the arrangements in order to be able to include Adam in our breeding programme. With time being scarse and the uncertainly factors piling up on us, we decided that this combination would not be possible at this time. Adam will however be included in Rex Ventors' breeding programme in the future, for which we are much greatful to Adam's breeder and owner Sue Campbell at Nyassa hounds. Luckily for us, a boy who met all the criteria we had pointed out for Yenna's boyfriend, was available. Proud father of this litter will be our very own Ch Rex Ventors Hero to Evergrace. Hero has a very similar pedigree to Adam, being the son of Kadani and grand-son of Demi. On top of this, he is a superbly constructed dog who in every imaginable way complements Yenna perfectly. And vice versa, I might add. The combination of Yenna and Hero should produce friendly, easy-going family dogs with plenty of working ability and certainly gorgeous looks! It really is a match made in heaven and Hero could easily have been my first choice of partner for Yenna. Because I had already used him in breeding (although it only produced one puppy) and I strive for diversity in my breeding programme, I hadn't considered using Hero until the circumstances made it obvious that he was the ideal choice. I suppose sometimes you don't see the wood for the trees... Apart from the distinguished dogs mentioned above, the pedigree of the upcoming litter has much to offer. Yenna's paternal grand-parents, Ch Copper Queen's Aretos by Xoxa and Ch Amageba Bayete Zawadi, have been top winning dog and bitch in Norway and Aretos is out of National specialty winner, US import Ch Kwetu's Xoxa in Denmark. Read more about these blood lines at kennel Amageba >> Yenna's maternal grand-father Ali Santula Marcel is the litter mate of Top RR bitch in Norway Ch Ami Sariba and Norwegian National specialty RuBISS Amukela Mambana Anzu. See photos and additional info at kennel Masithela's site >> It's safe to say that Yenna's side of the pedigree includes the top winning blood lines of our neighboring country for the last decade. The planned P-litter brings together generations of superb quality dogs. Yenna and Hero were mated on August 11-13th and we hope for their babies to arrive in the second week of October. Inquiries welcome! Pedigree for the litter: |
