2007-01-04 - Gothenburgh My Dog National show, judge Jens Myrman, breed entry 80+ We had a lovely time during the pleasant "weekend" (actually the shows were on Thursday and Friday) in Gothenburgh. Magnus, Anaelle and I brought Tinja and Haley and stayed with Sandrah, Fredrik, Noah and Katano.
On Thursday we had several very nice placings being awarded to the kennel. The puppies were judged in a separate ring by Mr Ove Germundsson, who awarded BOB to our Noah and BOS to his sister Noelle. In the "regular" ring, Maddox and Macleo were the first ones out and placed 1st and 2nd in their junior class, with Maddox being awarded championquality (his first official show!) and later placed best dog -4. The next RV-dog to compete was RV Karebo "Emilo" who placed 3rd in a HUGE open dog class. None of our champion males ended up placed in best dog, so Maddox was the highest placed of our boys.
In the bitch class, Haley did a rather poor performance as she had hurt her foot the night before when playing in the woods and now wouldn't put any weight on this foot (left rear, facing the judge of course!). She wasn't limping at all so I figured I would take her in the ring nevertheless so that she would get the training. She placed 2nd in the class and was awarded honour's prize in spite of looking like a sad shrimp most of the time. ;) Lexi, RV Limited Edition, was the next one out and won a huge intermediate class with champion quality. In the open bitch class, Hero-daughter Soltoppen's Batuuli by Hero placed 2nd and Magic-daughter Evergrace's Magic Mega placed 3rd - again in a huge class. Batuuli ended up placed as best bitch -4 and Mega best bitch -5 - a very pleasing result! In a large champion bitch class, two RV girls took out top honours and also placed best bitch -1 and -2. Ch RV Jamila won the class and was followed by my wonderful, almost 8 year old, Tinja managed to stand out in the stiff competition against all the younger ladies and placed 2nd. So in the top five girls, four were RV or RV-related which we are of course very proud of.
BOB and BIG-1 and new champion of the day was Djungelkattens Acute Ridged Aramis - big congratulations Bengt! BOS was our livernosed beauty Jamila and bitch CC-winner and new champion was Gyllene Ridgens Faidi.
After the show we were a bunch of RV's or "related" ;) of 19 people who went out to a great Tapas restaurant and had an excellent time. Thanks Alexandra and Sandrah for arranging this lovely evening for us!
2007-01-05 - Gothenburgh My Dog International show, judge John Walsh, breed entry 80+ This day the pups were judged by the same judge as the adults and once again Noah and Noelle took out top honours going BOB and BOS. Big congrats to proud owners on a super "weekend". ;)
In the adult class, the judge used grade 2 quality on maaaany dogs (=very good), which isn't quite what we are used to here. Maddox was the only one left standing with a 1st prize in quality (=excellent) and also was awarded champion quality again! Good start of the adult carreer for young Maddox (formerly known as "super puppy"), to say the least! Emilo was again shown in open class and this day managed to WIN the super big class with champion quality. Given the number of 2nd prizes that were awarded, his owners had started to pack their things to head home - but no such "luck"! ;) Emilo finished as 3rd best male after two champions and thus won his 2nd CC in grand style! One to go before he gains his title! In the champion class, our very own Ch RV Jaristo managed to take out the 1st place in very stiff competion and later was awarded best male. Super congrats Malena! 4th best dog was Hero-son Vereus Qoya's Naughty by Nature. 5th best dog was Ch Evergrace's Gladiator Douglas - 100% RV as his parents are Ch RV Akeron and RV Estancia "Phoebe".
In the junior bitch class, Haley was stacking better this day and won the class with champion quality. She made it into the final six in best bitch, of which five were placed, so that was a close call for a placement. In intermediate class, Lexi once again won a very big class with champion quality and lovely handled by Sandrah in best bitch, she placed bb-4. In the open class, Mega once again was placed in the top five of loads of girls although not placed in best bitch this time.
BOB was Ch Hayawani Kamilika Rangi and bitch CC winner and new champion Emoyeni's Genteel Zawadi. Big congrats to the owners! Rex Ventors won the breeder's class but in the end we decided not to stay for the finals as we had a long drive home. Thanks all for a great weekend!
