More about Savanah...
Savanah was born on October 15, 1995. She is the daughter of Australian
import Bowbridge Ndoto Mukundi (also sire of World Winner 1998), grand-daughter
of Aust Ch Sandfire Thika Askari and multi BIS-winner Aust Ch Marsabit
M'Fumo. Savanah has been approved at an offical mentality test and is
a wonderful girl to work with; always attentive and ready to give her
utmost in the show ring as well as in the fields.
Savanah has had three litters and these have proven her to be an excellent
brood bitch. In general she passes on her lovable, sweet temperament and
joy of life as well as her sound conformation and wonderful rich pigmentation
(note especially the beautiful dark eyes and lovely expression signifying
both mother and progeny).
For Savanah's first litter, our B-litter , we made a long trip by train
all the way up to Bergen in the eastern parts of Norway to meet with the
glorious "Rico" alias N Ch Krismidt's Dancing Duke. Rico has
many many superb dogs in his pedigree including US export SAF ZIM Ch Globe's
Roving Red Regent and UK import N Ch Nyassa Kanto. Mixed with the many
names of distinguished RR's in Savanah's pedigree, this combination offered
much of the best in the RR world and attracted the interest of UK's top
breeder -97, Sue Campbell of Nyassa kennels. As a result, in February
-99, at the age of 9 months, our darling boy "Beks", GB Ch Rex
Ventors Beks at Nyassa, thanks to the Balai agreement was able to move
directly into the loving home of Sue, 7 RR- and 2 Whippet-buddies.
Much to our joy Beks has had some very nice show wins in Enland including
RuBIS at Specialty level. He completed his championtitle at age 2. Beks
has produced many promising off spring in England including Ch Sonstraal
Baron Samedi - Scotland's Top RR 2002.
Beks' sister S Ch Rex Ventors Belize deserves a special mention. As "Alice"
finished her title , upon her first outing in open class, she had won
6 CCs and 1 CACIB and from junior class had managed and impressive Best
in Specialty Show-win (Lövudden -99). She finished her title just
after turning two, by winning Best of Breed and Group-5. From this litter,
Bentley "Vincent" is also being selectively shown and has been
awarded champion quality.
Savanah's second litter, our C-litter, was out of frozen semen from
Aust Gr Ch Bearstar Ko C.D.; top RR in Australia 1998 (according to an
Aussie dog magazine). This mating was particularily special to us as it
combined the lines of our two wonderful girls, as Ko is also Demi's father.
This time we were selectively combining some of the very best bloodlines
from Australia and Great Britain, Ko being the grand-son of the legendary
GB Ch Ulundi Ushumba of Eilack and Savanah the great grand child of Crufts-winner
GB S Int Ch Britte of Janak. In February 1999, nine perfect little babies
were born; an excellent result of a successful artificial insemination
performed by AI-specialist Catharina Linde-Forsberg.
Of the six stunning ladies in this litter, Int Nord Ch SV-01-04 NV-01,-02
NordV-03 LP 1 Rex Ventors Cetinja, has followed in the footsteps of half-sister
Demi and was Top RR in Sweden 2003. Lovely Ch Rex Ventors Cordiva completed
her title at age 3. Ciara is presently on 2 CCs and we hope that she will
finish her title shortly. Rex Ventors Corregidor "Linus" was
exported to Finland and has sired a litter there.
For Savanah's third litter, we again headed up to the eastern parts of
Norway to meet with another Norweigan gentleman, namely Ali Santula Marcel.
As a result, in March 2000, Savanah had another litter with 6 girls and
3 boys - all of show quality. From this litter we were happy to co-own
Estancia who became the dam of our promising K-litter in 2004. Elodie
was exported till Samlet kennels in Finland. Elantra was sold to kennel
Anzantra and to date has won one 2 CCs and produced promising offspring
in two litters. Erenzo is on 2 CCs and has also achieved obediance diploma
in class 1. LP1 LP2 Rex Ventors Emega has done very well at obedicance
trials and has been awarded obediance diplomas in class 1 and 2 and is
currently competing in class 3.
Since 2000, Savanah is living with Veronica's ex partner Jonas and spends
her days playing with Isak and using her dark brown eyes to effectively
beg for treats.
