More about Tinja...

Tinja is one of Rex Ventors' absolute top winners through the years. As of 2006 she is in the top five RR's in Sweden for the 7th (!!!) consecutive year! Already as a youngster, she had tremendous success in the show rings and in her first year of showing in the official classes, she managed a tie for Top RR bitch in Sweden with half-sister Demi. As she turned two the following year, she soon completed her title and with limited travelling she collected the merits required for International and Nordic champion.

Tinja has amassed an impressive five winner titles; Swedish Winner 2001 & 2004, Norwegian Winner 2001 & 2002 and Nordic Winner 2003. Even though other RV-girls have been campaigned and collected the Top RR in Sweden spot (Demi in 2001, Enya in 2002 and Helinn in 2004, 2005 and 2006), Tinja has nevertheless managed to be in the top since her debut year 2000. In 2003, Tinja had her time in the limelight and was handled by my friend Maria Kierkegaard to the prestigious award Top RR in Sweden - while I was out on maternity leave.

Tinja is also a remarkable dog to work with - always attentive and eager to please. From a limited number of obediance trials, she has been awarded obediance diploma (LP) in class 1 and 2, which is quite rare for a Ridgeback. Tinja won the class 1 obeciance trial at the Specialty in 2002 and in 2004 placed highest of all contestants from all classes at the Specialty, competing in class 2.

This girl of many talents also initially enjoyed field tracking. She passed the aptitude test in field tracking in 2003. After a couple of years away from the field tracking, Tinja upon her return decided that this discipline was no longer for her. She knows exactly what she is doing but does not have the proper motivation to track any longer.

On top of everything, Tinja is an absolutely fabulous girl to live with. She is affectionate, obediant and adores children in general and Anaelle in particular. A more patient four-legged friend can hardly be found. On the other hand, she takes her guarding duty very seriously and not many visitors are admitted without her throrough check and approval. Once in the house though, all guests are considered friends and potential food/candy-providers.

Tinja is a once in a lifetime dog and the only limits to what she can accomplish lays in the time and effort put in by her owner. Sweet Tinja with the wrinkly forehead is a very treasured family member!
